Strength, mobility, core and flexibility training in one workout
I like to call this a “contemporary dance fitness class.”
This is a barefoot class that is rooted in foundational dance technique (ballet, modern and contemporary forms) and is not choreography-heavy the way most dance cardio classes are formatted.
85% of the class focuses on strength training that combines dance technique and functional movement (think squats, lunges, and push-ups, with the use of 2-5 lbs hand weights as an option) and 15% is choreography/phrase work.
Class is in a structured format that builds on itself: a proper warmup, a well-balanced circuit, all building up to a dance phrase that fuses elements from the movements performed throughout the class's routine.
